Song of the Month, "The Ballad of Bruce Weaver"; Upcoming Shows

Hi Guys,

Hope all is well with you! Our Song of the Month for May is called "The Ballad of Bruce Weaver,” a song from the Home Town CD. To read the songwriter notes, check out the lyrics, and listen to the song, click here!

We'd like to thank all of you who have attended our shows over the last couple of weeks! As always, we really appreciate your support, and without you the shows would not be any fun! Here are our upcoming shows:

On Thursday evening, 5/20, we will be at Tyson’s Tavern in Baltimore. It’s a great little spot near the Fells Point District. Owner Dean Zlomke and his staff put out some great entrees, and you can enjoy them in an atmosphere filled with friendly and engaging patrons. We’ll be stopping by there to do a gig after visiting tom and Martha Brina, friends of ours from Washington. Stop in and see us if you are in the area! We’d love to see you! (Tyson’s Tavern, 2112 Fleet Street (between Chester and Collington), Baltimore, MD, 8 PM to 12 AM, (410) 342-2112)

On Saturday, 5/22, we will be at the Steamboat Landing in Canandaigua. This awesome spot overlooks the north end of Canandaigua Lake, and the vistas are simply spectacular! If the weather is nice, we will be playing on the patio. It’s a great place to listen to music and take in the beauty of the lake while you have dinner and a few drinks! Hope to see you there! (Steamboat Landing, 205 Lakeshore Drive, Cdga., NY, 6 PM to 10 PM, (585) 396-7350)

On Friday, 5/28, we are headed to Geneva to play a happy hour at Rylie J’s! Pat and Amy McGhann, the new owners, don’t have their kitchen up and running yet, but they put out some great snacks for the Friday happy hour! Stop by for a few drinks, some snacks, and some “good time” music! It’s a great way to start off the weekend! (Rylie J’s, 38 Seneca Street, Geneva, NY, 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, (315) 759-6050)

On Friday, 6/4, we will be at the Lumberyard Grille in Canandaigua for a "happy hour." Along with its well-known Friday night fish-fry, the Lumberyard has many other terrific entrees! So, start your weekend off with a few drinks, a delicious dinner, and some "good time" music! (Lumberyard Grille, 106 Bemis Street, Cdga, NY, 6 PM to 9 PM, (585) 393-5550)

On Wednesday, 6/9, we are at Ventosa Vineyards, a neat winery nestled in the hills on the east sied of Seneca Lake. We are playing during the dinner hour, and if the weather is nice, we will be playing on the veranda that overlooks the lake. Stop in for a bite to eat and a couple of glasses of wine! It’s a great way to spend a mid-week evening! (ventosa Vineyards,, 3440 Route 96A, Geneva, NY, 6 Pm to 9 PM, (315) 719-0000)

On Friday, 6/11, we are back at Maloney's Pub in Hammondsport! Trust me! This is a hopping place! The patrons are terrific, and they engage in the music; so, if you come, be prepared to join in the fun! In addition to music lovers, Maloney's draws some of the finest pool players in the area; so, if you are a shooter, come out and engage in some great competition! Should be a great time! (Maloney's Pub, 57 Pulteney St. (on the point), Hammondsport, NY, 9 PM to 1 AM, (607) 569-2264)

On Saturday, 6/12, we will be at the Victor Hills Golf Course for the Yarger Memorial Golf Scramble. This is a benefit put on by the Yarger family, and the proceeds go to Thompson Hospital. We will be at the 19th hole getting everyone in the mood for the banquet. There is still time to sign up; so, call the number below if you are interested. This is our fourth time playing for this benefit, and all the previous ones have been a blast! It's a must if you enjoy being out on the golf course on a Saturday afternoon with your friends! (Yarger Memorial Golf Scramble (Benefit for Thompson Hospital) Victor Hills Golf Course, Victor, NY, 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM For information about the golf tournament, call 585-526-4439.)

On Sunday afternoon, 6/13, we are back at the Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua at the Sandbar. The Sandbar is a little outdoor bar behind the inn near the water. Stop by for a bite to eat and a few drinks! It's a great place to meet new people who come to Canandaigua from other areas of the country to tour wineries, and attend weddings, reunions, conferences, etc. It's also just a relaxing spot to hook up with the locals and catch up on the news! (Inn on the Lake, 770 S. Main Street, Cdga., NY, 4 PM to 8 PM, (585) 394-7800.)

On Thursday, 6/17, we are at the Canandaigua Wegmans for the “Cruisin’ Wegmans” Classic Car Show. This family event, sponsored by Wegmans, exhibits many beautiful classic cars owned by people from the greater Rochester area. Along with the show, there will be food, drinks, and prizes. We are there to enhance the festive atmosphere generated by this event. Bring the family out! It’s a great way to spend the evening! (“Cruisin’ Wegmans” Classic Car Show, Canandaigua Wegmans, 345 Eastern Blvd., Canandaigua, NY, 5 PM to 8 PM, (585) 394-4820)

Have to get going for now. By the way, if you know of any venue in your area where we might be able to perform (bar, coffeehouse, house concert, etc.,), let us know. We don't need very much money, and in addition to being able to visit with you, it will give us a chance to travel, meet some new people, and spread our music a little more throughout the land! Hope you are all doing well! Drop us a line and let us know what is going on for you! Love ya!
