MEYER AND MCGUIRE: NEWS AND MUSIC SCHEDULE

Hi,

Hope all of you are doing well! Here’s what I have for you this month.

This blog started out giving you posts of the songwriter’s notes, lyrics, and music for my original songs. As with many things, it has gone in new directions. So, if you just started reading my post and are interested in my original material, here is a link to my Songwriter’s Notes, Lyrics, and Music.

Our regular show on Oct 11 and our Open mic on November 8 at Brew and Brats at Arbor Hill, an eatery and entertainment center behind the Arbor Hill Winery & Grapery were two terrific nights! On October 11, the “Mando Master,” Perry Cleaveland, joined us and ignited the crowd with his mandolin and fiddle, making it another successful outing at B&B! We’d like to thank Jack Jones, Kendall Paul Wilt, Bob Dugan, T-Bone Farley, and Tom Hawks for contributing some great tunes to make the November 8 open mic a splendid one! Our next open mic at Brew and Brats will be on December 13. Details for this open mic are at the end of this message. Whether we are running an open mic or playing a regular show, Brew and Brats is always a good time! Hope you can Join Siobhan and me on December 13!

As always, thanks for supporting original music! The “Singer/Songwriter in the Side Room” series at Buffalo Bill’s is going well, and we have moved to two shows a month, the first and third Thursdays. Since my last general update, we have had two great shows in the “Side Room,” Rick Hoyt and Cool Club on October 16 and The Cadleys on November 6. Below are two videos, one from each show:
Rick Hoyt and Cool Club
"White Men in Business Suits"
The Cadleys
"The Only Thing Missing Is You"
John Dady will be our guest on November 20, and Kerry Regan will be our guests on December 4. Stay tuned for more details about these shows in my upcoming post. Hope you can join us for these performances!

For those of you who follow us at Rio Tomatlan, we’d like to give you an update. Rio sustained a fire in late May. The restaurant suffered a great deal of damage, and Rio will be reopening at its new location in Canandaigua at 106 Bemix Street, the previous site of the Lumber Yard. Before Rio reopens, however, the old Lumber Yard will need some major renovation, and the new Rio will most likely not open until this fall. Back on August 10, Siobhan, Perry Cleaveland, and I played at a benefit to help the workers at Rio Tomatlan. Buffalo Bill’s offered its restaurant as a location for the benefit. Well, it was a grand time and very successful! Rafael Guevara, the owner, hopes to reopen Rio Tomatlan sometime in December. Stay tuned for another update in early December!

Since we are in Rochester every Tuesday, Siobhan and I started hosting a little jam session at Sheridan’s Pub on Tuesdays from 4 to 7 PM. The songs can be Irish, but they do not have to be. Stop by with your instruments and join us at the table, or just come and enjoy the music! Delicious food, happy hour drink specials, and friendly patrons!

Well, have to go for now. Below is a list of some of our upcoming dates. Hope to catch you at a show! Take care!

All the best,
Siobhan and Frank
