SINGER/SONGWRITERS IN THE SIDE ROOM PRESENTS LOREN BARRIGAR

Hi,

This blog started out giving you posts of the songwriter’s notes, lyrics, and music for my original songs. As with many things, it has gone in new directions. So, if you just started reading my post and are interested in my original material, here is a link to "Boogie Woogie Therapy," one of my original songs. You can read about the song’s history, review the lyrics, and listen to the song. If you want to add the song to your playlist, you can download it at Amazon or iTunes.

On Thursday, 4/14, Loren Barrigar will be our performer in the “Side room” at Buffalo Bill’s. I hope this little description from his web site entices you to come to his show!

“Loren Barrigar
Loren started playing guitar when he was only four years old, and by the time he was six, he played the Chet Atkins hit “Yackety Axe” in front of thousands of country music fans at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He went on to study with Jimmy Atkins (Chet’s brother), which led to a touring career with his family band from Nashville to Las Vegas.
Since settling in Central New York, he has been in constant demand as a studio musician and recently produced and played on the #1 rated CD in Syracuse, Dusty Pas’cal’s “Home” (2007). His finely-honed songwriting skills have launched his melodies on NBC’s hit show “ER”, The Young and the Restless, and on a Christmas CD with BB King and Patti Labelle. He has recently performed with
some of the best acoustic players in the world including Steven Bennett, Richard Smith, John Knowles, Muriel Anderson, and Loren’s friend and mentor Tommy Emmanuel, the Australian guitar sensation. He has also recorded with Multiple Grammy winner and legendary producer Lloyd Maines.

For the last few years, Loren has been working on finger style guitar. His 2008 album “Dance with Me” is a result of that work, and it received a Syracuse Area Music Award for Best Country Album of 2009. He has been touring in support of his latest CD "Chillaxin" {2009] His solo concerts include favorite songs from 7 decades as well as his own original songs, all featuring exciting guitar work and memorable vocal stylings.”

To give you a feel of Loren’s style, here is a video of him playing "Juice," one of his original songs. To learn more about Loren and his partner, Mark Mazengard, you can check them out right here. Hope you can join us for this show!

The concert is free, but we do ask for donations to support our performers. Siobhan has created four CDs, one for each of our four seasons. Each CD contains songs of the performers who appeared during that season. The requested donation for each CD is $10, and the proceeds go to the performers who are playing on the night of the donation. The CDs have gotten good reviews, and we hope they get passed around to let others know about the great talent we have appearing at this venue.

This is a special show on the Second Thursday. Normally, the concerts take place on the first and third Thursdays of every month in the side room of Buffalo Bill’s Family Restaurant and Taproom, 19 Main Street, Shortsville, NY. The show runs from 7 to 9 PM. To learn more about Buffalo Bill’s, check out their site right here:

Here is a link to videos of performers playing in the Side Room. The videos will give you a feel of how much fun we have at each show. Check them out!

Hope you can join us for this show!
All the best,

Siobhan and Frank
