Song of the Month, "Your Local Star"; Upcoming Shows

Hi Guys,

For the past several years, Siobhan and I have compiled a rather extensive mailing list of friends who date all the way back to our grade school years. Because this list gets larger and larger each month, it gets harder and harder to keep up with all our individual emails. So, to make up for the email messages we miss, we like to send out two email messages each month to maintain our contact with you. The first gives you the news about what has gone on for us during the month, and the second email is our "Song of the Month" article, a history of one of our original songs. Both emails will include information about our upcoming shows! Hope you enjoy the emails!

Our Song of the Month for August is called "Your Local Star," a song from The Road Less Traveled CD. To read the songwriter notes, check out the lyrics, and listen to the song, click here!

We'd like to thank all of you who have attended our shows over the last couple of weeks! As always, we really appreciate your support, and without you the shows would not be any fun! Here are our upcoming shows:

On Thursday, 8/20, we will be playing at The Fish Shanty! The Fish Shanty (formerly Captain Yogi's) has been part of our music lives since 1975. Yogi and Lois retired and turned the reigns over to Dave and Nancy, two terrific people you absolutely have to meet! The menu stayed the same, and the entrees are as delicious as ever! Also, the entertaining staff is still on board, and there are some new mates to help make the ship run smoothly! We do an intimate show inside if it rains, and we play a bigger show outside if it's a beautiful summer night! We'll be there every Thursday through September 3! If you can't make it this Thursday, we hope to catch up with you some other Thursday this summer! (The Fish Shanty, 4520, East Lake Rd., Canandaigua, NY, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, (585) 394-1166)

On Friday, 8/21, we will be at Jose and Willy's in Canandaigua for a "happy hour." The bar overlooks the north end of Canandaigua Lake, an excellent spot to start off your weekend! On Saturday, 8/22, we will be at Stone Cutter's Pub in Geneva. Stone Cutter's is located inside the famous Belhurst Castle, and, unlike the other restaurant in the castle, Edgar's, it is designed for casual relaxed dining. Other than telling you the setting is beautiful and the food is delicious, we can't tell you much more. So check out the link below for more details. If you bring a copy of this email, they will probably let you in as a guest if you do not have any friends who are members. Hope to see you there! Should be a good time! (VFW Post 7414, 93 S. Of course, the show at The Sandbar is weather permitting, so call ahead if the forecast predicts rain. Stop by if you get a chance! It's a great place to meet new people who come to Canandaigua from other areas of the country to tour wineries and attend weddings, reunions, conferences, etc. It's also just a relaxing spot to hook up with the locals and catch up on the news!
