Song of the Month, "Set Yourself Free"; Upcoming Shows

Hi Guys,

Hope your new year is off to a good start! Our Song of the Month for January is called "Set Yourself Free,” a song from the Home Town CD. To read the songwriter notes, check out the lyrics, and listen to the song, click here!

We'd like to thank all of you who have attended our shows over the last couple of weeks! As always, we really appreciate your support, and without you the shows would not be any fun! Here are our upcoming shows:

On Friday, 1/22, we are headed to Geneva to play a happy hour at Rylie J’s! Pat and Amy McGhann, the new owners, don’t have their kitchen up and running yet, but they put out some great snacks for the Friday happy hour! Stop by for a few drinks, some snacks, and some “good time” music! It’s a great way to start off the weekend! (Rylie J’s, 38 Seneca Street, Geneva, NY, 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, (315) 759-6050)

On Saturday, 1/23, we are headed to Phelps to play at the Water Side Wine Bar! The Water Side Wine Bar, in the former Old Mill Liquor building in historic Phelps, NY, is fast becoming a destination spot for Finger Lakes area wine and beer lovers. Open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, the Wine Bar offers a full range of premium wines by the glass, craft and micro brew beers in a frosted glass, and gourmet light fare prepared on the premises created by chef Derrick DePorter. One of the most unique aspects of the business is its location overlooking the Flint Creek Waterfall. During the nice weather, you can relax on the patio and enjoy the vista of the falls which are well lit in the evening. Inside you will find the cozy wine bar along with another room with a stone fireplace and comfy leather couch. Owner Al Deporter opened the Wine Bar in October of 2008 and is constantly expanding his drink list by enhancing it with great local wines and beers. Stop by and see us! (Water Side Wine Bar, 125 Main Street, Phelps, NY, 8 PM to 11 PM, (315) 5483520) To learn more about the Water Side Wine Bar, click here!

On Wednesday, 1/27, we are headed to Bristol to share the stage with several other performers at the Coffeehouse sponsored by the United Church of Bristol. Tim Hamlin, a good friend, great guitar player, and pastor of the church, periodically creates these coffeehouse evenings to bring people together for a good time! In addition to the music, there will be some great snacks and drinks provided by the members of the congregation! If you need to escape the mid-winter blues, this event is for you! Come on out! You’ll have a blast! (Coffeehouse, United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Road 2 (corner of County Road 2 and Oakmount Roads), Bristol, NY, 7 PM to 9 PM, (585) 727-2938)

On Saturday, 1/30, we are playing at the New York Wine and Culinary Center. They have a great little bar and restaurant on the second floor. Along with its great entrees, the Culinary Center is stocked with wine and beer that is made only in New York. If you want a Budweiser, Guinness, or some exotic wine that is made in France or Spain, this is not your place. If you are looking for something to do that is new, interesting, and fun, stop in and check it out! Should be a great time! (New York Wine and Culinary Center, 800 S. Main Street, Cdga., NY, 7 PM to 9 PM, (585) 394-7070) To learn more about the Culinary Center, click here!

On Thursday, 2/4, we are headed to Waterloo to play at The Gridley Inn for the Acoustic Dessert Series. This terrific music venue, created by Karen and Perry Cleaveland in their beautiful bed and breakfast living room, occurs every Thursday night from January through May. As you listen to the music, you can enjoy one or all three of Karen’s delicious homemade desserts! Perry, an outstanding mandolin player, will be joining us for this performance, and we can’t wait to play with him! It’s another great way to escape the midwinter blues! Don’t miss it! Oh, by the way, if you are coming to the Finger Lakes Region for a visit, check out The Gridley Inn! It’s an awesome place to stay! (The Gridley Inn, 36 W. Main Street, Waterloo, NY, 7 PM to 9 PM, (315) 539-5192) To learn more about the Gridley Inn, click here!

On Friday, 2/5, we will be at the Lumberyard Grille in Canandaigua for a "happy hour." Along with its well-known Friday night fish-fry, the Lumberyard has many other terrific entrees! So, start your weekend off with a few drinks, a delicious dinner, and some "good time" music! (Lumberyard Grille, 106 Bemis Street, Cdga, NY, 6 PM to 9 PM, (585) 393-5550) To learn more about the Lumberyard Grille, click here!

On Sunday, 2/7, we are headed to Shortsville to play at Buffalo Bill's for the Third annual Buffalo Bill's Pre Super Bowl Jam! This tradition, started in 2008, is rapidly becoming as popular as our St. Patrick’s Day show there! The music starts at 3 PM and we play up to game time! Along with the music there will be some great food and drinks! Come and join us! You'll have a great time! (Buffalo Bill's, 19 Main Street, Shortsville, NY, 3 PM to 6:30 PM, (585) 289-4104) To give you a sense of the fun we have at Buffalo Bill's, click here to see the video of the 2008 Buffalo Bill’s St. Patrick's Day Party!

Have to get going for now. By the way, if you know of any venue in your area where we might be able to perform (bar, coffeehouse, house concert, etc.,), let us know. We don't need very much money, and in addition to being able to visit with you, it will give us a chance to travel, meet some new people, and spread our music a little more throughout the land! Hope you are all doing well! Drop us a line and let us know what is going on for you! Love ya!
