"SINGER/SONGWRITERS IN THE SIDE ROOM" PRESENTS THE MICHAEL YACCI TRIO

Hi,

This blog started out giving you posts of the songwriter’s notes, lyrics, and music for my original songs. As with many things, it has gone in new directions. So, if you just started reading my post and are interested in my original material, here is a link to "The Good House Is Built Upon A Rock," one of my original songs. You can read about the song’s history, review the lyrics, and listen to the song. If you want to add the song to your playlist, you can download it at Amazon or iTunes.
On Thursday, 9/3, Mike Yacci will be our performer in the “Side room” at Buffalo Bill’s. Mike, who released a new collection of original songs in 2014, will be playing songs from this new release as well as some favorites from his older collections. If you do not know Mike, here is a little bio for you:
Michael Yacci is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and audio producer. His most recent album, Almost Somewhere, was released in 2014, and is a finely crafted studio album of original pop/rock music in which he plays all the instruments and sings all the vocals (available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Rhapsody, Kunaki, and Apple Music.) His original music is often likened to artists such as Todd Rundgren, Brian Wilson, and Ben Folds. Previous recorded works include the 2012 album, Better Than Real and the 1980’s era vinyl recording, entitled Michael Yacci, all featuring Yacci as a multi-tracked instrumentalist. As a touring keyboard player and vocalist he has performed in 21 states, playing clubs and concerts working as many as 300 nights per year. Current musical efforts are largely devoted to writing and recording with a variety of musical styles, artists, and projects.
Performing as the “Michael Yacci Trio,” Mike will be accompanied by Bryan Maslin on drums and vocals, and Paul Yacci on bass, vocals, and saxophones.
To learn more about Mike and listen to his music, click here. Hope you can join us for the show!

The concert is free, but we do ask for donations to support our performers. Siobhan has created three CDs, one for each of our three seasons. Each CD contains songs of the performers who appeared during that season. The requested donation for each CD is $10, and the proceeds go to the performers who are playing on the night of the donation. The CDs have gotten good reviews, and we hope they get passed around to let others know about the great talent we have appearing at this venue.

The concerts take place on the first and third Thursdays of every month in the side room of Buffalo Bill’s Family Restaurant and Taproom, 19 Main Street, Shortsville, NY. The show runs from 7 to 9 PM. To learn more about Buffalo Bill’s, check out their site right here:

"SINGER/SONGWRITERS IN THE SIDE ROOM" PRESENTS STEVE PIPER

Hi,

This blog started out giving you posts of the songwriter’s notes, lyrics, and music for my original songs. As with many things, it has gone in new directions. So, if you just started reading my post and are interested in my original material, here is a link to "Chasin’ the Sun," one of my original songs. You can read about the song’s history, review the lyrics, and listen to the song. If you want to add the song to your playlist, you can download it at Amazon or iTunes.
On Thursday, 8/20, Steve Piper will be our performer in the “Side room” at Buffalo Bill’s. Steve, who released a new CD since his last show in the “Side Room,” will be doing a solo show of songs from the new CD as well as some favorites from his older releases. Here is what Pat Maloney, an awesome songwriter, has to say about Steve’s music. “Steve Piper's songs are filled with the kind of longing you get when you are alone, but warm and dry on a rainy night - little circles of light in a dark and stormy world. I hear flashes of Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers peering in from the darkness. I am nostalgic for Steve's past and want to join him, through his songs, as he slouches off towards Kansas City, searching for the truth.”
Here is a video of Steve doing “This House,” at his show in the “Side Room” at Buffalo Bill’s.
Here is a video of Steve doing “It Never Gets Old” at his show in the “Side Room” at Buffalo Bill’s.
In addition to being a great songwriter and guitar player, Steve is a terrific photographer and artist. To learn more about him, click here. Hope you can join us for the show!

SINGER/SONGWRITERS IN THE SIDE ROOM PRESENTS EDDIE LEE, THAD MAXWELL, AND GREG GEFELL

Hi,

This blog started out giving you posts of the songwriter’s notes, lyrics, and music for my original songs. As with many things, it has gone in new directions. So, if you just started reading my post and are interested in my original material, here is a link to "Ridin’ Down the Back Roads," one of my original songs. You can read about the song’s history, review the lyrics, and listen to the song. If you want to add the song to your playlist, you can download it at Amazon or iTunes.

On Thursday, 8/6, Eddie Lee, Thad Maxwell, and Greg Gefell will be our performers in the “Side room” at Buffalo Bill’s. The trio will be playing songs from Eddie’s recently released CD, all original music. Here’s some information about these guys in case you don’t already know them:
“Eddie Lee & Closing Time is headed by founder, singer songwriter and front man Eddie Lee. Upon his return from Nashville, the band enjoyed its first taste of success in 1997 with the release of its album “Eddie Lee & Closing Time”. The band released its first album self-entitled “Eddie Lee & Closing Time” which included 11 of Eddie Lee’s self-penned songs. The CD found great reviews in Europe and received local radio support winning a new song competition against major label recording artists 5 weeks in a row. The band endured a rigorous schedule of shows and took over as the house band for 92.5 WBEE radio. In recent years Eddie Lee has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Phil Vassar, Joe Nichols, Sammy Kershaw, Confederate Railroad, Joe Diffie, Aaron Tippin, Marty Stuart & Jarrod Niemann.
In 2015 The Closing Time Train Rolls On! A NEW SELF-PENNED CD featuring 10 new songs has been released and is now available at shows as well as on ITUNES and CDBABY!!! This year also brings another calendar of shows with Fairs, Festivals and some of the bands favorite Honky-Tonks & Clubs.

Thad Maxwell has spent half his working life as a professional musician in Hollywood, CA. He played guitar, drums, bass, and pedal steel guitar on TV (over 40 appearances on the Tonight Show), recording, and touring with artists and bands such as: Swampwater (Linda Ronstadt), Tarantula, Arlo Guthrie, Mac Davis, Dolly Parton, Rick Nelson, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. He retired from 20 plus years of the music life and returned to upstate NY to teach third grade in Davis, Dolly Parton, Rick Nelson, and the Flying Burrito Brothers. He retired from 20 plus years of the music life and returned to upstate NY to teach third grade in Honeoye Falls for 21 years, and gradually returned to the music life and is playing with Eddie Lee and Closing Time. Yep, do the math and he’s a geezer, but still rockin’!

Greg Gefell is an Amazing Musician / Singer-Songwriter that has had a long standing career as the guitar player for local favorites Blue Jimmy. Greg has also spent time on the road with Nashville Recording Artist Sean Patrick McGraw. Greg spent the last year teaming up with Singer-Song Writer Eddie Lee. Together they collaborated to bring Eddie Lee’s new songs to life. Greg not only played guitars on the tracks but the album was recorded at Greg’s Studio “Red Door Studio” with Greg Producing and Engineering the project. Listening to the new CD the collaboration was really magic!”

Here are a couple of videos from Eddie’s latest CD:
"Tougher Than Train Smoke"
"I Would Take Your Place"
