Song of the Month, "Your Local Star"; Upcoming Shows

Hi Guys,

For the past several years, Siobhan and I have compiled a rather extensive mailing list of friends who date all the way back to our grade school years. Because this list gets larger and larger each month, it gets harder and harder to keep up with all our individual emails. So, to make up for the email messages we miss, we like to send out two email messages each month to maintain our contact with you. The first gives you the news about what has gone on for us during the month, and the second email is our "Song of the Month" article, a history of one of our original songs. Both emails will include information about our upcoming shows! Hope you enjoy the emails!

Our Song of the Month for August is called "Your Local Star," a song from The Road Less Traveled CD. To read the songwriter notes, check out the lyrics, and listen to the song, click here!

We'd like to thank all of you who have attended our shows over the last couple of weeks! As always, we really appreciate your support, and without you the shows would not be any fun! Here are our upcoming shows:

On Thursday, 8/20, we will be playing at The Fish Shanty! The Fish Shanty (formerly Captain Yogi's) has been part of our music lives since 1975. Yogi and Lois retired and turned the reigns over to Dave and Nancy, two terrific people you absolutely have to meet! The menu stayed the same, and the entrees are as delicious as ever! Also, the entertaining staff is still on board, and there are some new mates to help make the ship run smoothly! We do an intimate show inside if it rains, and we play a bigger show outside if it's a beautiful summer night! We'll be there every Thursday through September 3! If you can't make it this Thursday, we hope to catch up with you some other Thursday this summer! (The Fish Shanty, 4520, East Lake Rd., Canandaigua, NY, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, (585) 394-1166)

On Friday, 8/21, we will be at Jose and Willy's in Canandaigua for a "happy hour." The bar overlooks the north end of Canandaigua Lake, an excellent spot to start off your weekend! Come on down and grab a few drinks and some great chicken wings or a delicious cheeseburger! Dancing starts at 8:30 with a great local rock-n-roll band; so bring your dancing shoes and make an evening of it! (Jose & Willy's, 20 Lakeshore Drive, Cdga., NY, 5 PM to 8 PM, (585) 394-7960)

On Saturday, 8/22, we will be at Stone Cutter's Pub in Geneva. Stone Cutter's is located inside the famous Belhurst Castle, and, unlike the other restaurant in the castle, Edgar's, it is designed for casual relaxed dining. Other than telling you the setting is beautiful and the food is delicious, we can't tell you much more. So check out the link below for more details. (Stone Cutter's Pub in the Belhurst Castle, 4069 Route 14 South, Geneva, NY, 7 PM to 11 PM, 315-781-0201) To Learn more about Stone Cutter's Pub, click here!

On Sunday night, 8/23, we are headed into Rochester to play at Temple Bar and Grille. It's a cool little place in the heart of downtown Rochester, and on Sunday evenings they have Celtic Night. Siobhan and I have eaten there, and the food is great! If you are in the city on Sunday night, stop in for a bite to eat and a few cold ones! (Temple Bar and Grille, 109 East Ave., Rochester, NY, 7 PM to 11 PM (585) 232-6000) To learn more about the Temple Bar and Grille, click here!

On Thursday, 8/27, we will be playing at The Fish Shanty!

On Friday, 8/28, we will be playing at VFW Post 7414's club. The event is just a little Friday night get-together for members and guests of members. If you bring a copy of this email, they will probably let you in as a guest if you do not have any friends who are members. Hope to see you there! Should be a good time! (VFW Post 7414, 93 S. Main Street, Canandaigua, NY, 7 PM to ..., (585) 394-8625)

On Saturday, 8/29, we are back at Wally's Pub in Canandaigua. We play there on the last Saturday of every month, and it's always a great time! Wally's is known for having the greatest bar food in the area! While this food is not great for your arteries, it is truly good for your soul! Some of the favorites are Wally's pizza, wings, and, of course, the Wally Burger! There are many other delicious items on the menu, so come on out and grab a bite to eat, have a few drinks, and listen to some "good time" music! The Saturday night team of Bruce, Ryan, Siobhan, and me can't wait to see you! (Wally's Pub, 16 Phoenix Street, Cdga., NY, 8 PM to …, (585) 394-2718)

On Sunday, 8/30, we are back at the Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua. We will be playing at The Sandbar, an outdoor bar behind the inn near the water. Of course, the show at The Sandbar is weather permitting, so call ahead if the forecast predicts rain. Stop by if you get a chance! It's a great place to meet new people who come to Canandaigua from other areas of the country to tour wineries and attend weddings, reunions, conferences, etc. It's also just a relaxing spot to hook up with the locals and catch up on the news! (Inn on the Lake (at the Sandbar), 770 S. Main Street, Cdga., NY, 4 PM to 8 PM, (585) 394-7800, weather permitting) To learn more about the Inn on theLake, click here!

On Thursday, 9/3, we will be playing at The Fish Shanty! The Fish Shanty (formerly Captain Yogi's) has been part of our music lives since 1975. Also, the entertaining staff is still on board, and there are some new mates to help make the ship run smoothly! We do an intimate show inside if it rains, and we play a bigger show outside if it's a beautiful summer night! We'll be there every Thursday through September 3! This will be our last show for this season! If you can't make this one, we'll see you next season! (The Fish Shanty, 4520, East Lake Rd., Canandaigua, NY, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, (585) 394-1166)

Hope you are all doing well! We'll be back with our monthly update in a couple of weeks! Drop us a line and let us know what is going on for you! Love ya!
