PICKIN' & GRINNIN' WITH SWIATEK, CLEAVELAND, AND HUGHES!

Great pickin’ and grinin’ and harmonies with Swiatek, Cleaveland, and Hughes in Quiote at Rio Tomatlan yesterday! The well-crafted lyrics of Paul Swiatek and Perry Cleaveland, whether in the style of blues, folk, or bluegrass, were surrounded by some incredible harmonies and guitar, banjo, mandolin, and dobro leads, and the audience reciprocated with an enthusiastic response throughout the afternoon. Ethan Hughes, a terrific dobro, guitar, and singer from Delaware, was a big hit in his debut with Swiatek and Cleaveland, and I only hope he finds a job in this area when he finishes up his degree at RIT. He would be a great addition to the Rochester music scene. Big thanks to Paul, Perry, and Ethan for a super job! Big thanks to Raf, Erin, Brittany, Trevor, Julie, Chris, Sadie, and the rest of the staff at Rio for all the help you give us to make this event work! Big thanks to Scott Regan for promoting these shows on WRUR’s “Open Tunings!” Big thanks to you, the audience, for your continuous support of this venue! Without you, it would not be possible! We’re coming right back at you with a show this Sunday, April 14. Scott Regan, a member of Watkins and the Rapiers, The Spring Chickens, and as I indicated above, the voice of “Open Tunings,” will be our guest. Whirlwood, MG Gonzalez, Perry Cleaveland, and Doug Henrie, will play for the brunch before Scott’s show. Stay tuned for more details throughout the week about Sunday Music at Rio!
